Travel within the zone
From Mexico :there is a motorway, only used by the Mexico upper middle class : a motoway that can compete with the western standards ! Actually not a very "Mexican" ride, but it will drive you fit and well in the city of all the lascivious pleasures available during Spring break !
To the west and to the east, a long string of spots for which you will need à sturdy 4WD especially during the rainy season !
Going from Acapulco to Puerto Escondido is a really trying journey : the coastal roads don't seem to stand up to straight lines (the image of a "festayre" - reveller from South-West France- on the banks of river Nive at sunrise....)
One more tip :don't drive at night,(especially on coastal roads)! Actually, mugging is not uncommon, and you make easy meat" para los banditos" !!!
