Zone overview
This zone is, like all along the coast, full of opportunies from West to East ! Towards the east of Puerto Angel : the beginning of the Chapias and some real beautiful lagoons.
In Oaxaca : do climb the Olmec pyramids perched on a plateau overlooking the area and in the rising sun, open your hands and stretch them out towards the sky, and gain enough mystical energy to go and brave the jaws of Puerto Escondido ! But Oaxaca, is also a teeming Mexican town not to be missed, with its magnificient monuments and its location overlooked by the mystic Olmec city mentionned above.
Travel within the zone
To get to the coast from Mexico DF, you'll need a good twelve hours, at least ( 6 hours to Oaxaca), and even more to Puerto Escondido.
To get to Puerto Escondido : rather travel on the Puerto Angel road ( not the Puerto Escondo one, too many bends !). Actually, we advise you to choose that one, not only because it's faster, but because it's better not to travel at night ! And this goes fot all Mexico.

Puerto Escondido and Puerto Angel which are the two " premier" surf bases in the area.
